I'll go ahead and comment first...
Pros:
-Low maintenance if you have a budget to attract and retain the best talent. It's very possible to go months without needing to check in with the employee(s).
-Profit potential is large if you compete for a contract that doesn't award to the lowest bidder.
Cons:
-Firm fixed priced contracts can be a business destroyer. I like labor/hour contracts a lot more than FFPs because it reduces financial risks.
-Very high maintenance when your budget is too low to recruit the best employees. This often leads to high turnover which is frustrating to not only your recruiting staff, but more importantly, the client.
